BlackRock’s Ex-Sustainability Officer Backtracks on ESG Investing
Tariq Fancy, BlackRock’s former chief sustainability investing officer, has reversed his support for ESG investing. He said that there is little evidence that “green bonds” actually lead to better results for the planet, despite claims arguing otherwise. “In practice, it’s not totally clear if they create much positive environmental impact that would not have occurred otherwise,” Fancy said.
