Corporations Find Their Spine Against Russia But Stay Silent in China
Apple, Google, Airbnb, and many other companies cut off Russian customers this week in the wake of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. But those same companies have remained silent while China oppresses its own people and people in places like Tibet, Hong Kong, and – increasingly – Taiwan. Could it be that Russia’s economy is a tenth as big as China’s so the loss isn’t as painful? Hopefully, this trend will continue and woke corporations will hold China to the same standard they hold Russia.
