Florida House approves ‘don’t say gay’ and ‘anti-woke’ bills, backing DeSantis agenda
Lawmakers in the Florida State House passed the Stop Woke Act on Thursday. The bill (HB 7) prohibits businesses from forcing their employees to attend training sessions that claim that any individual is “inherently racist, sexist, or oppressive, whether consciously or unconsciously.” The bill also forbids schools from teaching that “members of one race, color, sex, or national origin are morally superior.” The bill passed with a 74-41 vote. The bill must still earn approval from the state Senate and Gov. Ron DeSantis before becoming law.
