Shareholder Drags Disney Over China Hypocrisy
Paul Chesser of the National Legal Policy Center absolutely humiliated Disney during a shareholder call this week as part of the group’s effort to get the company to provide a report on the human rights impact of working with China. Chesser highlighted all the ways in which Disney has cuddled up to China as it commits human rights abuses — all while Disney promotes woke ESG investing in the U.S. “All we ask is that Disney leadership simply explain the human rights impacts of their interactions with foreign governments and entities,” Chesser stated. “If they can’t bring themselves to do that then the question we have for Disney executives is: What are you hiding?”
