Jeremy Tedesco
Jeremy Tedesco serves as senior counsel and senior vice president of communications for Alliance Defending Freedom. In this role, among other things, he serves as a lead convener of the Philadelphia Statement (www.thephillystatement.org), a movement dedicated to restoring free speech and civil discourse. Before serving in his current role, Tedesco litigated First Amendment cases at the highest levels. He was part of the legal team that represented cake artist Jack Phillips in Masterpiece Cakeshop v. Colorado Civil Rights Commission, before the U.S. Supreme Court and argued Jack’s case at the Colorado Court of Appeals. He was also lead brief writer in two other U.S. Supreme Court wins, Reed v. Town of Gilbert and Arizona Christian School Tuition Organization v. Winn. Tedesco has also argued six times before five different federal appellate courts. Tedesco earlier founded and directed the ADF Center for Conscience Initiatives, where he led efforts to protect individuals from government coerced speech. In this role, Tedesco led pre-enforcement challenges to laws that would compel creative professionals to promote messages contradicting their core beliefs. These include Telescope Media Group v. Lindsey, Amy Lynn Photography v. City of Madison, and Brush & Nib Studio v. City of Phoenix. Numerous media outlets have interviewed Tedesco or published his comments. They include Wall Street Journal, Fox News, CNN, The New York Times, USA Today, The Washington Times, PBS, NPR, and National Review, among others. Tedesco earned his Juris Doctor in 2004 from the Regent University School of Law, where he was a recipient of West’s Academic Achievement Award. He is a member of the state bar of Arizona, admitted to the U.S. Supreme Court and the Supreme Court of Arizona, as well as multiple federal district and appellate courts.
