America’s wokest CEOs talk constantly about stakeholder capitalism, and portray themselves as standing up for all stakeholders while advancing a caring sort of capitalism. None of this is true. No corporation can act on behalf of all stakeholders, since they want different things. And when CEOs pretend to act for stakeholders, they’re only subordinating company success to their own personal policy agendas. That’s not capitalism; it’s an insurrection against capitalism by corporate executives.
