University of Illinois Requires Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Work for Promotions
The University of Illinois – Urbana-Champaign will no longer promote or grant tenure to faculty members unless they meet a requirement for diversity, equity, and inclusion work. All faculty must submit documentation that details the “specific individual and/or collaborative activities aimed at supporting diversity, equity, and inclusion, as well as access” that they’ve conducted throughout the year. Similar woke promotion requirements have been implemented at other universities, including Perdue.
